Description
Nalameryx savagei is one of the rare mammals found in India during the Paleogene. Only five specimens of Nalameryx (including two fragmented mandibles and three isolated teeth; WIF/A 411 to WIF/A 415 in Nanda & Shahni 1990) were described in India. Nalameryx is a small ruminant known by at least two species currently reported in the Oligocene deposits from India, Pakistan, and Turkey (Nanda & Shahni 1990; Métais et al. 2009, 2015).
